TRAVELRun time: 1:26:12 There is possibly no place on earth more remote, more forbidding, more harsh than the continent of Antarctica - characterized by high winds, rain, snow, ice and cold temperatures that make
anyone planning to visit it, have second thoughts. It is no wonder, therefore, that very few people have actually set foot on this remarkable place. I have been one of the fortunate few.
I spent a month photographing the iconic landscape and the animals and birds that inhabit this wilderness, and came back with over 30,000 photos, some of which I would like to share with
you. So, join me as I take you on a photographic journey to one of the last, relatively unexplored frontiers on earth. On this journey, you will see penguins, seals, icebergs and other
wonders, and also learn about the whaling industry and some of the early explorers and adventurers. TECHNIQUESRun time: 1:45: 16 Run time: 1:45: 16 Run time: 1:16:31 Run time: 1:38:26 Run time: 1:11:57 High key photography is typically a contemporary genre with characteristically dominant white or bright tones. It is very visually appealing—with high impact—yet it can be challenging
to execute without knowing what to do in-camera and when post-processing. That said, when it all comes together, the results are spectacular! Run time: 53:33 Run time: 49:42 Run time: 1:09:52 What you will get to learn: Run time: 1:48:53 This is an instructional and technical program by night photographer Jürgen Lobert to introduce photographers to light painting and light drawing at night. Adding artificial light to photos taken at night can be done through a number of techniques. Light painting adds additional light to existing surfaces, but light drawing is one of the few techniques where a photographer can actively create unique and intriguing content, rather than simply photographing existing sceneries. The following topics are covered: Introduction to light painting equipment & settings Trigonometry for photographers: the exposure triangle Capturing time so you can spend it on painting Adding light Exposure considerations and the square root paradigm Angles: how geometry creates intrigue Buy or do it yourself: the light painter’s toolbox Light Painting: How to convert a flashlight into a paint brush Light Drawing: Unleash your artistic side The three secret techniques for mastering light painting and drawing. Post-processing considerations Resources Throughout the presentation, Jürgen will demonstrate a number of light painting tools, show how to use them and how they look like in the many visual examples. Run time: 1:26:51 Susan Magnano has dedicated many nights to the art of creating long exposures that stand out from the rest. She will cover everything from how to adjust your camera settings to ND filters, to expanding your artistic vision through the use of light painting, light graffiti, and night portraiture. Together, we will test the limits of your creativity with long exposures and see how you can apply it to all fields in photography. Run time: 58:01:19 In this webinar, Kate shares amazing Long Exposure photography techniques Long-exposure photography can bring a new dimension to your imagery and open up a whole new world of creative
possibilities for you. Run time: 2:00:07 Run time: 1:01:48 Learn how to create unusual and striking close-up images both in the field and in your own backyard and/or home studio. Award-winning fine art photographer and workshop leader, Charles
Needle, will guide you through all the necessary steps to take your macro photography to the next level. In this webinar, Charles will discuss specific methods for shooting water
droplets, reflections on iridescent glass, mylar, and everyday household objects. He will also cover more advanced topics, such as selective-focus macro, “shooting through” with
a telephoto lens, close-up lenses/diopters, artistic macro with Lensbaby and Kaleidoscopic lenses, Soft-Glow Montage macro, and wide- angle macro. In 2011, Charles was selected as a finalist, among 15,000 entries worldwide, in the International Garden Photographer of the Year photography contest, sponsored by The Royal Botanic
Gardens, Kew (London, England). This exhibition traveled throughout the United Kingdom. He was also a semi-finalist in the 2014 Nature's Best Photography Windland Smith Rice International
Awards photo contest. Charles is a FujiFilm USA Talent Team member and North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) Showcase Award winner seven years in a row. Run time: 1:00:09 A project about shooting brightly lit architecture at night with Joe Pellicone. Joe is in love with photography since he was a kid. He was involved with school photography in High School and College. He was official police photographer for Pope Benedict NYC Visit. He had been a Wedding Photographer and Album Designer for 5 years. Currently he is a Blog writer and Photographer for Platypod and Litra. He is also author of Taking Better Photographs and HDR Breaking the Rules. Run time: 1:33:31 This webinar shows the fundamentals of getting started with night photography in various genres, from portrait to landscape to the moon and stars. Art shares with you the equipment used that goes beyond the camera, lens, and tripod, and what he found to work best for various type of night photography. In addition he shares many tips and tricks used to capture the images along with quick simple settings that you can use to jump-start your night photography adventures. Run time: 1:13:02 This program will cover in-camera techniques as well as post-processing tips for creating stitched images. Stitched images can be great for panoramas, composite backgrounds, and for tight areas. The logistics and benefits or taking two vertical images at 30-40mm rather than one horizontal at 17mm will be discussed. Multi-image and multi exposure-image combinations will also be presented, for example, many of my panoramic images are 77 images combined, 11 verticals across with 7 exposures each. Vertoramas can also be created to help with building keystoning and/or to add impact. STREET AND URBANRun time: 1:37:25 Cityscapes are iconic - whether well-known skyline silhouettes or portraits of majestic architecture, cities seem to captivate photographers. We quickly realize how difficult it is to truly capture the lines, scale, and moods of a city we’ve fallen in love with. Often, cityscapes can turn out blurry, grainy, or far too pale. In this webinar, Padma Inguva and Roland Shainidze will give an overview of the skills you’ll need to get the vibrant cityscapes you want. They will cover everything from technical recommendations like camera settings to creative post processing techniques. Equipped with this new knowledge, you can let your favorite city shine. Run time: 1:00:56 While countless photographers attempt to photograph churches, few succeed in capturing images that are as breathtaking as the churches themselves. The reason is - photographing
the inside of a church is hard. It takes an advanced skill-set to capture the three-dimensional beauty, found in reality with such high dynamic range, and then to convey
the same level of emotion in the two-dimensional plane of a photograph. Run time: 1:18:24 This photography presentation seeks to broaden and inspire your definition of what street photography is and how and where it can be done. Run time: 1:37:36 Get an intimate insight into Valérie's thought and creative process from visualization to capture as she takes you on an educational photo walk on the streets of Paris. What did she see and how did she approach the scene? Why did she choose B&W over color? What aperture and why? What was the intent behind the choice of focal point? And much more. Run time: 1:27:53 If you are an introvert and the simple thought of getting close to a stranger makes you sweat, or simply if it feels too sneaky or obtrusive, know that there are other ways to practice the beautiful genre of street photography without getting close to your subject. This presentation will show you ways to be more incognito on the streets while also preserving the anonymity of your subjects. This presentation will also help you get back on the streets during this temporary era of social distancing. Run time: 1:18:02 Lisa will discuss the love for RUST and their approach to and experience with photographing historic and abandoned buildings, urban decay, etc. This program will include techniques for wide-angle and close-up photography including the use of HDR (high dynamic range), EDR (extended dynamic range), HDR-panoramas, and light painting in this program. Equipment and techniques used to bring out the beauty and drama of these subjects will also be discussed as we show our fascination with RUST. The program is aimed to inspire you: inspire you to visit new "old" places and to get to know them well enough to tell their story, inspire you to capture high dynamic range images and to light paint, and inspire you to create art from decay. Urban exploration (UrbEx) is the art of finding and exploring abandoned locations. Not all locations are technically "urban" or even "abandoned". The term abandoned is used VERY loosely. It is not "being abandoned" that attracts us to a place, it is the history, beauty, decay, charm, and architectural details (which contrast so drastically with today’s vanilla architecture). Another definition of UrbEx is the investigation of seldom seen man-made structures, a definition more consistent with our quest, since our subjects may be FAR from abandoned (like the architectural grandeur of bustling Grand Central Terminal or the surprising drama of the [empty] neo-Gothic Eastern State Penitentiary), but these sites count as "unseen" because few people actually stop to appreciate beautiful prison architecture or the jaw-dropping details of Grand Central. MISCELLANEOUSRun time: 1:14:13 Run time: 1:10:54 Join Pete and learn how to get out at night and make your own beautiful and unique Landscape Astrophotographs. Topics will include how to select locations and times that will result in good images; personal safety while in the field after dark; what equipment to use and how to set it up; composition considerations; and some post-production tips. There will be at least one case study tying all this together. If you have ever marveled at the quiet beauty of the night sky, this is your chance to begin – or improve -- making memories of those experiences. Run time: 1:41:59 Birds are in many ways a photographer’s dream with their exquisite plumage and beautiful eyes. Combining this beauty with feeding, courtship and social/antisocial
behavior as well as flight provides enormous photographic opportunities. However, there are difficulties; birds are often small, are in constant motion and are
usually not willing models. Based on a number of years of experience, this presentation addresses many of the challenges that need to be overcome in order to obtain
bird photographs that illustrate interesting behavior while simultaneously being technically acceptable/excellent photographs. The seemingly simple yet fundamental
photographic elements of focus and exposure can in fact be very challenging; interesting behavior is often over in a fraction of a second so focus and exposure
must be correct the first time. When using long lenses, getting a rapidly moving bird in the frame and keeping it in the frame requires practice, knowledge, technique
and luck; furthermore, capturing a pleasing composition adds another layer of difficulty. A once in a lifetime observation must be captured and captured correctly
when it occurs. Run time: 1:01:21 There is a limitlessness to the Sky. When we look up at the clouds in the massive vastness of the sky, we observe formations, moving clouds or clouds that appear to
have faces, shapes and patterns in them. The Drama of the Clouds is a big part of Nature’s character. Nature’s best reward to us photographers are the infinite
opportunities for photographing sunrises, sunsets and sun rays piercing through the clouds, creating striking imagery. But, think of these images without clouds?
Without clouds, landscapes or sunrise/sets can be dull and dreary, making us cut out the sky and lay emphasis on foreground elements instead. On the contrary,
witnessing the puffy, bulbous, stormy clouds lit up in myriad manners, can make the scene appear more colourful, alive and dramatic. Run time: 1:23:09 This program will teach us ways to look more deeply into our prized photographs in order to articulate the story and artistic vision behind them. The presentation
helps us to understand the motivation, meaning, or metaphor that our photography to speak about our experience on both sides of the camera lens. Run time: 1:43:02 Run time: 1:26:01 Join Jackie Kramer as she takes us on a journey through her digital garden where she will share a variety of techniques to bring out the character in floral subjects. She will offer examples showing how to reflect the personality of a flower and how to shoot straightforward macro images with selective focus, shoot-throughs, abstracts, multiples, textures, and more. Hear her rationale as it applies to decisions in the field pertaining to the selection of the subject, background, approach, composition, lighting, exposure, and depth of field. You will leave with a desire to put some of these ideas into action as you create your own unique images. Run time:1:15:22 Flowers are beautiful and almost always available, making them popular subjects for photographers and painters. This program focuses on creative flower photography that goes beyond capturing accurate flower pictures. We’ll see how to take advantage of interesting and beautiful shapes, textures, and colors to create original art. The program covers creative seeing and image making, from capture to post processing, including subject selection and composition, gear, lighting and light modifiers, and ideas and techniques for unique and personally-expressive flower photography. Run time: 50:53 This is a pre-recorded webinar on the history of photography that was created to celebrate World Photography Day - 2020. There is a second webinar of a PowerPoint presentation that was converted to a video that augments the webinar - there is no sound associated with that second video. Run time: 1:06:34 (Part one), 1:20:52 (Part two) This is a two part Webinar series. Part two: Run time: 1:16:32 In this webinar, Dr. Kah-Wai Lin will tell you four pro tips in crafting better images in landscape photography: how to use the lights to create emotion; how to use long exposure to create dynamism; how to use the perspective of vision to create visual impact; and how to use composition to create a story. Jump in with both fins as NAUI SCUBA instructor and award-winning underwater photographer Dalton Hamm leads you on a deeper dive into underwater photography. Dalton will show you a range of styles, from close-up macro images to sweeping, wide-angle underwater shooting, even teaching you how to nail the highly-coveted split shot! Run time: 59:08 Join professional landscape photographer Nic Stover for this session to talk about an area of photography that is hard to quantify, takes some time to discover, but
is part of the process. “The Power to Create, giving ourselves the permission, we need to embrace the creative process.” Run time: 1:35:18 This program presents the visual exploration of stones and crystals through macro photography as illustrated through the theme of Imaginary Realms. Starting with a discussion on mineralogy, George Fellner describes the initial spark for this journey and the criteria for the implementation of this Earth source material. The description of camera and lighting equipment, along with the photo shoot setup illustrates multiple technical considerations. Through the visual display of images, he discusses the ongoing evolvement of this unique form of abstract imagery. Influential art movements including Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism are noted. In particular, the revelations involving points of departure include messages from history, mythology, geology, astronomy, biology, and other themes. In turn, this defines the associative relationships of the images with meaningful messages. Consequently, the creative process results in Imaginary Realms, evoking ancient and future fantasies, as well as planetary and cosmic-scapes, traversing space, time, and dimension. Ultimately, the intent is to stimulate the imagination of both the photographer, as well as the observer. This presentation includes case studies, photographic and post-processing techniques including focus stacking, and lighting strategies. Run time: 1:25:18 As a renowned international photo tour leader, William Yu will share his years of travel experience and practical tips of photography in this presentation from places around the globe. William will show you how it takes skills, knowledge, and experience to take better and memorable images when traveling, telling the story of places, culture, and people. William will share with you tons of tips and tricks for different aspects of travel photography, from gear choices to image composition, from technical to creative, from planning to execution.
