PSA AcronymsDivisions PSA offers six (6) Divisions, each specializing in subject matter and techniques.

APSA - Associate - This honor is awarded to PSA members in good standing for excellent service to photographers, within PSA and/or in other photographic organizations such as clubs, councils, federations, national and international
societies, and other organizations, or to the general community, worldwide.
FPSA - Fellow – This honor is awarded to PSA members in good standing for exceptional service to photographers, within PSA and/or in other photographic organizations such as clubs, councils, federations, national and international
societies, and other organizations, or to the general community, worldwide. Service may include organizational or administrative work, lecturing and presentations, writings and publication of articles, instruction and judging,
among other contributions. A high degree of proficiency or photographic achievement, or a work background or education relevant to these services may help explain the value of these services.
HonPSA - Honorary Membership-This honor is awarded to PSA members in good standing for exemplary, long, and impactful services to photographers, within PSA and/or in other photographic organizations such as clubs, councils, federations,
national and international societies, and other organizations, or to the general community, worldwide.
HonFPSA - Honorary Fellow - This is the highest level of honor bestowed by PSA. It is awarded to PSA members in good standing who have gone far above and beyond the call of duty for many years in their service to PSA and/or
to the photographic community, other photographic organizations, and photographers generally.
ExhibitionsPSA-recognized photographic competitions held around the world. Members and non-members can enter Exhibitions.
AcceptancesEntries that receive a pre-specified judging score in a percentage range are referred to as “acceptances” or “accepted”.
Star RatingsStars, Galaxies, & Diamonds – Acceptances received from Exhibitions are eligible to be used to apply for PSA Star Ratings.
Star Ratings: 1 – 5 ratings
Galaxy Ratings: 1 – 10 ratings
Diamond Ratings: 1 – 10 ratings
Recognition of Photographic Achievement (ROPA)Star Ratings may be converted to ROPA distinctions
QPSA - Qualified distinction is awarded for 54 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
PPSA - Proficiency distinction is awarded for 288 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
EPSA - Excellence distinction is awarded for 700 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
MPSA – Master distinction is awarded for 1,500 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
MPSA2 - Master Level 2 distinction is awarded for 2,250 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
GMPSA - Grand Master distinction is awarded for 3,000 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
GMPSA/B - Grand Master Bronze distinction is awarded for 5,000 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
GMPSA/S - Grand Master Silver distinction is awarded for 7,000 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
GMPSA/G - Grand Master Gold distinction is awarded for 9,000 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
GMPSA/P - Grand Master Platinum distinction is awarded for 11,000 or more exhibition acceptances supported by Star Rating Certificates from one or more PSA Divisions.
PortfoliosPortfolios are a body of photographic work representing personal styles, and photographic interests
Portfolio Distinctions
BPSA – Bronze PSA is the first level of a Portfolio distinctions.
SPSA – Silver PSA is the second level of a Portfolio distinctions.
GPSA – Gold PSA is the third and highest level of portfolio distinctions.
