PSA members qualify for membership in the Photo Travel Division by participating in PTD through holding an elected Office, being the Director of an activity, earning a Star, Galaxy, or Diamond Rating, participating in the Travel Essay Competition, or a PTD Study Group.

Images that receive Acceptances for inclusion in a PSA-recognized exhibition are eligible to be used by PSA members to apply for a PSA Star Rating. Stars are awarded separately in each of the PSA Divisions. Stars are awarded separately in each of the PSA Divisions. In addition, medal and HM winners in the PTD Essay Competition receive acceptance and title credits when used in an application for Stars 1 through 5. 

There is one class of Star Ratings in the Photo Travel Division. All applications go to the coordinator.

All interclub competitions follow the same procedures: 3 rounds ending November 15, February 15, April 15. Clubs may enter 6 images by 6 members for each round. Pre-registration is required.

Who's Who in Photography is an annual publication listing exhibitors in all divisions and sections who have met the minimum number of acceptances in PSA recognized exhibitions from the previous year.

Discussion groups focused around small groups of members.

Number of groups: 7. Members submit one image per month.

General Info on Study Groups

Entrants must be PSA members in good standing who are the winners of the Best of Show or PSA Gold medals in Photo Travel Image Division Sections of PSA-Recognized Exhibitions whose closing dates occurred in the previous calendar Year

Image of the Year Competition

Festivals, Celebrations and Ceremonies: Images showing people in distinctive cultures engaged in festivals, celebrations, and ceremonies. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition.

Village or Small Town Life: Images of people showing the distinctive cultural life of a village or small town. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition. Therefore, to comply, images might need to include recognizable physical features of that village or small town.

City Life: Images of people showing the life in a city that has a distinctive culture or characteristic. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition. Therefore, to comply, images might need to include recognizable physical features of that city.

Architecture: Images of distinctive, characteristic, and recognizable architecture. People can be included but should not be dominant at the expense of the architecture. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition.

Places of worship: Images of people showing distinctive customs of worship, or distinctive and recognizable structures or locations which are associated with worship. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition.

Fortresses and castles: Images of distinctive, characteristic, and recognizable fortresses or castles. People can be included but should not be dominant at the expense of the fortresses and castles. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition.

Bridges:  Images of distinctive, characteristic and recognizable bridges. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition.

Marketplaces: Images of people showing the distinctive customs, people, goods and activities of a marketplace. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition. Therefore, images might need to include recognizable physical features of that marketplace.

Landmarks and monuments: Images of distinctive, characteristic, and recognizable landmarks and monuments. People can be included but should not be dominant at the expense of the landmarks and monuments. All images in this Photo Travel Theme must adhere to the Photo Travel Definition.                             

Mentors are members who have excelled in a specific area of photography and will share their expertise and resources with PSA members. Member must be signed in to their account to request a mentor.
