Board of Directors

PSA is governed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee that establishes PSA policies, procedures and practices as set forth in the PSA Bylaws. The Board is composed of ten members. The President, Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and an At-Large Board member serve as the Executive Committee. Those same officers make up the Finance Committee. The Board elects the Board of Directors for a two-year term. The Board is elected each odd-numbered year (Division Officers are elected each even-numbered year).

Prior to an election year, the Nominating Committee prepares a slate of candidates for the Board positions. PSA members may nominate another member and a PSA member can self-nominate sending the nomination to the Nominating Committee to assess. The Nominating Committee publishes the slate in the March PSA Journal in odd years. The Board of Directors elects each board member at the Annual Spring board meeting in odd years. Board members assume their duties the day following the PSA Annual Festival.

If someone cannot complete a term, the Board elects someone to fill the position based on the recommendations of the Nominating Committee. With the exception of the International Relationships Vice-President, Directors shall be elected for one (1) term of two (2) years and shall not be eligible to serve more than three (3) consecutive terms in the same office. All officers shall continue in office until their successors qualify. The President and Executive Vice-President may serve two (2), two–year terms for a total of four (4) years.
