Suriya Jayalath Perera is the founder President of the America Sri Lankan Photographic Art Society (A.S.P.A.S.) member of PSA and FIAP, who held a nature photographic exhibition for the very first time in the USA as a Sri Lankan nature photographer. He was formerly a project officer of the Central Regional Office of the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka. In 2005, he held a Wildlife Exhibition at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery in Sri Lanka. Since he migrated to the U.S.A., he has organized a series of annual Nature Photographic Exhibitions, the third of which was held in cooperation with the Sri Lanka Consulate in Los Angeles, at the University of California in Los Angeles (U.C.L.A), in 2019. He is a nature photographer who developed a strong fascination for nature and wildlife when he carried out two and half years of research in the Ruhuna (Yala) National Park, for the Masterâ€™s thesis he submitted to the Kelaniya University in Sri Lanka, which forms the basis of this publication.
