After spending 30 years in architectural photography in Connecticut, Sandy now concentrates on fine art photography. Her goal is to freeze moments in a creative way, either by unique camera angles or adding a different perspective with post processing. A traveler at heart, her photos try to capture the excitement of the world around her, whether nea r her ho me in the Lowcountry of South Carolina or in more exotic locales around the globe.
Her books include Hands Across the Lowcountry (Lydia Inglett Ltd.) and The Cats of Beaufort. Her photo "Winter Facade" was chosen as the cover for Charleston Salt and Iron and "Backseat Southern Drivers" was selected for the back cover of Along Southern Roads. Several of her photos appear in the Beauty of Beaufort and Hilton Head Island, coffee table books, all published by Lydia Inglett Ltd and Southern Traditions by Pat Branning.
Sandy continues her efforts to bring public awareness to photography as an art through Photographic Society of America in her position (2020) as First VP of the Pictorial Print Division and as Director of the InterClub Print Competition, for a position she has held since 2015. Sandy was one of the founders of the Photography Club of Beaufort (2005). She is a member of the National Association of Women Photographers (NAWA) and has served on their SC board since 2019; and Carolinas Nature Photographers Association (CNPA).
