Velichka Todorova, AFIAP, QPSA Chairperson of the Vi Art Foundation, Bulgaria Member of the Managing Board of National Academy of Photography "Yanka Kyurkchieva", Bulgaria I was born on September 13, 1968 in the town of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, Europe. I have been shooting since I was a child, but in the last 15 years, my interest in photography has moved to another level and I dedicate every free minute to it.
For me, photography is a challenge through which you can reveal yourself to the world in your own way and leave traces. And the traces are what makes our life meaningful, full and truly experienced. I would call my art a way to live my life in a different and individual way. Through the strong influence of black and white photographs, I want to recreate my emotions and feelings and thus feel the state of the object, which, taken and presented in an appropriate way, turns it into a work of art. Through the photographs from the latest projects, I recreate the sensitivity and feelings of women, an important aspect of the life of modern society. I try to capture female figures who show their own nature freely and without any elements of ethical and moral conventions. The mask I use sometimes and the model who holds it delicately in his hands as if to say that he sees himself in it. This is a way to make the viewer grasp the root cause of the condition in which the woman lives today - the iconic and complex "Mask of Life."
