Hema Narayanan, QPSA

[Photojournalist, Writer and Founder of 'Wider Angles'] - Engineer by education and an Artist by choice. Hema  worked in  the IT and Software development for  many years, before giving up her career in pursuit of her passion for Photography and Writing. As an  avid traveller, she defined  a profession, that included traveling and photography.

Now, a Graduate of New York Institute of Photography,  Hema is a known photojournalist and a frequently published writer in India - for newspapers, portals  & magazines, such as NGT India, Discover India, The Hindu and Deccan Herald. She is also an occasional guest writer for NYIP's blog.

Licensed Artist with Getty Images and Shutterstock, her work is exhibited locally and in various salon exhibitions.  Under the banner of her company "Wider Angles,” she conducts ' Photo Workshops & Walks'. She leads her signature "Experience India" Photo tours for aspiring photographers; and also infuses photography into the young minds at an International school.

She undertakes commercial photography projects in Urban Spaces, Home Interiors and & Decor, Real estate, Lifestyle, Product, Food, Candid portraits and events (occasionally).  She volunteers for CRY (Child Rights & You), when possible, for philanthropic work on children related issues, generating photographic content for awareness building campaigns (pan-India).

Invited to the panel of Judges for photo contests, she also is summoned for 'Talks' at various forums, corporates and Academic Institutions. She is a member of the Youth Photographic Society, Bangalore (YPS),  Federation of Indian Photography  (FIP) and  Photographic Society of America  (PSA).
