Donald E. Brown, APSA, PPSA
Donald Brown, born and raised in Western Kentucky, lived in Texas, Maryland, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, England, Ohio, and Northern Virginia, retired in 2005 to Charlotte, NC. Having been a Photography hobbyist since high school and having spent 25 years in the Air Force plus 25 years in Corporate America, Don was finally ready to spend his next 25 years cultivating his skills and love of photography and nature.
As Don spent his days trying to improve his golf game and discovering the beauty of the Carolinas through his photography, he became associated with the Carolina Nature Photographers Association and became its President in 2007, a role he held until 2011. He dropped his CNPA duties in order to free up more time for traveling and photography but soon found himself volunteering again as a member of the Board of Directors for the Photographic Society of America.
He was the VP for Membership for 6 years, leaving the Board in Oct 2017. That year he took on the role of 2nd VC of the Pictorial Print Division and State Membership Director for North and South Carolina. Don is an avid participant in International Exhibitions and earned the PPSA in 2016. He was elected APSA in 2014. You can find him in the Smoky Mountains, the Outer Banks of NC or somewhere in between and behind the viewfinder of his Nikons.
