My name is Michael Kirkland, I live in Chicago, Illinois, where I moved to attend Columbia College to study photography. I am a member of the Green Briar and F/Stop photo clubs of the Chicago Area Camera Club Association (CACCA). My goal was to visit and photograph each of U.S. National Parks, so far I have visited 21. Since joining PSA and being exposed to the images taken by my peers, I have expanded to capturing images of flowers, humming birds and buildings. I have enjoyed learning and growing in my photographic abilities. In 2012, I was awarded Honorable Mention placing in the top 14 out of 14,866 entries in the US National Parks service photo contest.
