Jeff Dunn, QPSA
A musician, geologist, and IT Project Manager as well as a photographer, Jeff Dunn still has a long way to go to be a true Renaissance man - but he's trying! Jeff was born in Hollywood, CA, where his father, a former commercial artist, was running an advertising agency. His uncle, Linwood G. Dunn, who was awarded two Oscars® for special effects photography, introduced him to cameras at an early age.
While earning a Ph.D. in geology, Jeff was a Naturalist with the National Park Service in Grand Teton National Park. The many slide shows he created honed his skills in landscape photography. Career moves since brought him away from the oil business in Texas to IT programming and project management in New York, North Carolina, and California.
Jeff has been a composer and professional music critic for the last 20 years, writing for San Franciso Classical Voice.
His musical about Hollywood and W. R. Hearst in the 1930s,"Castle Happy," was produced at the Altarena Playhouse in 2017.
Jeff began an interest in graphic arts in 2007, when he became the only critic to illustrate his own music reviews online with ironic commentary via photocollage. Since joining PSA in 2013, he has been an active participant in international exhibitions, PSA Digital Study Groups, a judge for his local council of camera clubs, and a professional reviewer for LensCulture.com
Jeff earned his QPSA in 2018.
