Franco Marchi began photographing in 1955, at age 12, with a camera, Ferrania Ibis-34, which he still has. He worked for 41 years in the data processing center of a bank, and during this long period, he continued to photograph the family and the landscapes of the holidays, especiallys with slides.
Since he retired (2004), in his spare time when not with his grandchildren or running and various associations, he is dedicated to nature photography and landscapes.
He especially likes to shoot nature photography and is inspired by living in Sesto Fiorentino (Florence), where he can shoot the Oasis of Querciola.
Although he does not belong to any photo club, he has partecipated in nearly 1400 photographic exhibitions in 51 countries, on 5 continents, since 2008. He has earned about 2300 acceptances with more than 140 of awards and honorable nentions. He received his PPSA distinction in 2014 and his EPSA distinction in 2017.
