Host Chapters Showcase Chairperson receives the entries and a score sheet from the Chapters Showcase Director. This material should be available about May 1.
Select three qualified PSA member judges. The Host Chapter members and the judges may not enter the competition, but they may have images in the Showcase as part of the Host Chapter’s participation. The Chapters Showcase is considered to be an open exhibition with color and monotone images, and images should be judged as a PSA PID exhibition. Scoring should be on a 3 to 9 point (27 maximum) scoring basis.
After the initial judging is complete, the Chairperson should verify all scores, total each Chapter’s scores, and check for ties, including ties for top Chapter totals and for best image in each Chapter. The judges must break all ties for the top three chapters’ totals and for the best image in each Chapter.
The Chapter receiving the highest cumulative score will receive the “Best Chapter Award;” the Chapter receiving the second highest cumulative score will receive the “First runner-up Award;” the Chapter receiving the third highest cumulative score will receive the “Second Runner-up Award;” and the Chapter receiving the fourth highest cumulative score will receive the “Third Runner-up Award.” In the case of a tie among Chapters, the judges must break the tie so that a total of only four Chapter certificates shall be awarded. The Chapters Showcase Director will prepare the certificates.
Complete the judging and send the results to the Chapters Showcase Director by July 1.
Individual ribbons for “Best of Chapter” will be awarded to the highest scoring image in each Chapter. If more than one image receives the highest score for the Chapter, the judges shall break the tie. Only one ribbon per Chapter will be awarded. The Chapters Showcase Director will order the ribbons for the showcase.
One “Best of Showcase” Chapters gold medal will be awarded to the individual image with the highest overall score. If more than one individual receives the highest overall score, the judges must break the tie. Silver and bronze Chapters medals will be presented to those two individuals scoring highest after the “Best of Showcase.” Again, if necessary, the judges must break all ties. The Chapters Showcase Director will prepare these awards.
The PSA Chapters Showcase program will be prepared by the Chapters Showcase Director.
A representative of the Host Chapter shall present the Showcase, prepared by the Chapters Showcase Director, at the annual PSA Conference.
