Al Sieg has been active as a photographer and a photo organization administrator for more than 55 years and has served local, national and international organizations. Professionally, he worked for many years with the Eastman Kodak Co., where he held the posts of Corporate Vice President in the US, and President and CEO of Eastman Kodak Japan where he lived and worked for seven years.
He is the past president of the Kodak Camera Club, International Salon of Photography, and Rochester International Salon of Photography. He is a founding member and past president of the Genesee Valley Stereo Salon and an organizer and founding member of Camera Rochester. He is also a Past President of the Photographic Society of America (PSA). Past Executive Vice President of PSA, Past Vice President of Photographic Society of America for Membership and Group Services, Past Chairman of the Uniform Practices Advisory Committee, Past Chairman of the Stereo Division and member of the Board of Directors for 14 years, Past Chairman of the International Affairs Committee and Past Vice Chairman of the Honors Committee. A Charter Member of the North American Nature Photography Association, Past President and Past Member of the Board. Past Chairman and current member of the Board of the National Stereoscopic Association.
He has received his Honorary FPSA (2010), GrandMaster Distinction, (GMPSA) (2015), Photographic Society of America; Fellow, Kodak Camera Club; Fellow, The 3D Society; Honorary Member, Rochester International Salon of Photography; Associate, New England Council of Camera Clubs; and Honorary Fellow the Photographic Society of New York. He also is the recipient of the following awards: Harold Lloyd Award, PSA Stereo Division; Image-of-the-Year several years, PSA Stereo Division; George Eastman Medal, Kodak International Salon of Photography. In 1995, was awarded the Progress Medal by the Photographic Society of America, the Society’s highest honor in recognition of both scientific and artistic contributions to photography; Lifetime Achievement Award, the Photographic Society of America;Al is a frequent judge at club and international exhibitions; a frequent lecturer at local, national and international conferences and seminars; a teacher at the local and national level. He has written many articles for photo journals and has had many pictures published.
A prolific exhibitor, having 5 stars in Color slides and the Stereo Master XXIV award (the number one stereo exhibitor in the world). Also have exhibited in Nature and Print categories. A frequent Medal winner with more than 400 medals awarded in international competition.
Also is also a multiple patentee in the field. He is listed in Who’s Who in America.
