PPD Print of the Month

May 2016 PPD Print of the Month (POM)

For the fourth time this contest year we have a winner from Cumbria, England. And for the second time it is Phil Thompson, with his first place Star Color image Indian Mother.

Dana Vannoy, FPSA, MPSA, our judge, says: “It is always difficult to select ONE image from the many excellent ones submitted to Print of the Month. This month I have chosen Indian Mother. The color print is technically very well done. The lighting is lovely. But most of all I believe the image tells a story about life in Indian culture. The mother’s expression speaks somber resignation. Her baby is beautiful. The interesting background adds a touch of journalistic reality to the story.”
