PSA Board of Directors

PSA is governed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee that establishes PSA policies, procedures,and practices as set forth in the PSA Bylaws. The Board holds at least two meetings annually, one prior to the Annual Conference and one during the spring at PSA Headquarters.

The Board of Directors is composed of thirteen members. The President, Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and an At-Large Board member serve as the Executive Committee. Those same officers make up the Finance Committee.  The Board elects the Board of Directors for a two-year term. The Board is elected each odd-numbered year (Division Officers are elected each even-numbered year).

Prior to an election year, the Nominating Committee prepares a slate of candidates for the Board positions. PSA members may nominate another member and a PSA member can self-nominate sending the nomination to the Nominating Committee to assess. The Nominating Committee publishes the slate in the March PSA Journal in odd years. The Board of Directors elects each board member, one at a time at the Annual Spring board meeting in odd years. The Board members assume their duties the day following the PSA Annual Conference

If someone cannot complete a term, the Board elects someone to fill the position based on the recommendations of the Nominating Committee. With the exception of the International Relationships Vice-President, Directors shall be elected for one (1) term of two (2) years and shall not be eligible to serve more than three (3) consecutive terms in the same office. All officers shall continue in office until their successors qualify. The President and Executive Vice-President may serve two (2), two–year terms for a total of four (4) years.

Executive Committee

PRESIDENT

The President promotes the general welfare of the Society; performs all duties customarily pertaining to the office; presides at meetings of the Society, its Board of Directors, and its Executive Committee; and otherwise serves as required by the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, and the exigencies of the office and provisions in the Bylaws.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

The Executive Vice-President succeeds the President in the event the President shall become unable to perform his or her duties; performs the duties delegated by the President, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, or the Bylaws; supervises the PSA Service Awards Committee (SAC), the Society Recognition Awards Committee (SRAC), the Portfolio Distinctions Committee, the Enrichment Committee, Strategic Planning, and the Volunteer Services Committee; has secondary Board supervisory responsibility for the Ethics Review Board (ERB), and serves as an ex-officio member of the Investments Committee and the Endowment Fund Trustees.

SECRETARY

The Secretary performs the duties inherent in the office, and any other duties that may be delegated by the President, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, or Bylaws. The Secretary is responsible for keeping in permanent form at PSA Headquarters the official minutes of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Board of Directors, Annual, Special Meetings of the membership, and the Photographic Alliance of America. The Secretary has primary Board supervisory responsibility for the PSA Ethics Review Board, Honors Committee, and the Nominating Committee.

TREASURER

The Treasurer performs the duties inherent in the office and such other duties delegated by the President, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and the Bylaws. The Treasurer supervises the preparation of the annual Society budget, submits the audited annual financial statements for publication in the Society's Journal or the Society's website, supervises the annual inventory of the Society's property, provides monthly financial statements to the Executive Committee, serves as chairman of the Finance Committee.

CHAPTERS, CLUBS, AND COUNCILS VICE PRESIDENT,
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER-AT-LARGE


The Chapters, Clubs, and Councils Vice President supervises Chapter activities and recommends the chartering and dissolution of Chapters as circumstances warrant, and is responsible for Society interactions with the member Clubs and Councils.

EXHIBITION SERVICES VICE PRESIDENT

The Exhibition Services Vice President supervises the activities of the committees related to exhibitions: Exhibition Standards (ESC), Star Ratings (SRC), Who's Who (WWC), Recognition of Photographic Achievement (ROPA), and the PSA International Exhibition.

IMAGE COLLECTIONS VICE PRESIDENT

The Image Collections Vice President (ICVP) is responsible for the Print Collections, Projected Collections, digital programs, the Greenhood Scholarships and Grants Committee (GSGC),  and Book Collections. As such, the position oversees the chairpersons, committees, and interns that are responsible for gathering, archiving, and developing exhibitions of the Society's collections. At the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma, the Society's collections are archived and used as educational aides in the curatorial and art history courses. In addition, the ICVP is responsible for chairs or directors of the TOPS in Photography programs.  Digital Programs used as educational tools for PSA members and clubs.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY VICE PRESIDENT - 

The PSA Information Technology Vice President is responsible for policy and procedures relating to the operation of the PSA Website, technology contract administration and software modifications. This position provides leadership for new project development and implementation as well as technical maintenance support for the operation of the PSA Membership Database and PSA on-line programs.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS VICE PRESIDENT 

The International Relationships VP (IRVP) has supervisory responsibility for the PSA Liaison Officers and the Translation Committee, subject to review, oversight and limitations imposed by the PSA Board of Directors, Executive Committee and President, and shall chair the International Relationships Committee, comprised of the IRVP, three PSA Liaison Officers, and the PSA President ex officio.

The Learning & Technology VP is responsible for all PSA education programs, courses, webinars, and technology trends and developments that may be of interest to the Society and its members.

The Membership Vice President supervises the operations of the Region Directors, recommends ways to enhance the value of Society membership to current and potential members, recommends and develops programs to promote membership acquisition and retention, and administers the Membership Awards Programs.
