Mukund Kumar Jagjivan Dass, AICS, APSNJ
Mukund Kumar J. Dass. Comes from the "Silicon Valley" of India, Bangalore. His love for chemistry took him to the profession of Pharmacy. After doing Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacology, he served as Lecturer in Pharmacy for 4 years, in Bangalore. As he was looking for something different, he came over to Dubai, the most happening city, in the year 1992, and has since adopted it as his home country. As the saying goes, nothing is constant, only the change is constant, his interest in extra-curricular activites have been changing with time.
Initially, like millions of Indians, his first love was Cricket and in fact he ably led his Pharmacy college team in the inter-pharmacy college tournament to victory. Over the last few years, however, he found new love in Photography. To hone his skills, in April 2017, he joined the Dubai based Shutter Bugs Creative Forum under the Mentorship of Mr. Mohammed Asif Arfan, a world-renowned Photographer, who incidentally happens to be a Pharmacist himself, also hailing from Bangalore. Since then, he has never looked back.
Photography has now become his passion. He started taking pictures of the sunsets, landscape, and nature during his travels and during the weekends, but it was his love for nature, especially the birds that brought him fame when his picture of Great Egret got published in the local Newspaper Gulf News
which won the general public award. This was followed by more such publications, of birds and pictures of Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, in the local newspaper. During this short stint, he has also taken part in various international salons and circuits, winning PSA Gold medal and more than 100 acceptances. He has earned the International photographic distinction AICS (Associate of Image Colleague Society International) and APSNJ (Associate of Photographic Society of New Jersey) in 2018. Mukund has also presented his pictures of birds at 'An Evening of Inspiration' event in Dubai. He has also successfully exhibited his works at the Collective Vision Edition 1 & 2, Dubai, which received critical acclaim. His colleagues in Shutter Bugs Creative Forum affectionately call him as the Birdman because of his love for birds of feathers. He says, ˜If you want to shoot nature, shoot it with a camera, not with a gun, Preserve nature for generations to come."
