Regional Exhibition Standards Directors

There are two types of PSA Exhibition Standards Directors, Regional ESDs (RESD), also known as Reviewers, and Divisional ESDs (DESD). 

The RESDs are based according to geographic location. If a group wishes to have PSA recognition for an exhibition, it must apply using the PSA Exhibition Recognition System (PSA ERS), details of which can be found here. Once an intended exhibition has opened an account in PSAERS, an RESD/Reviewer from the appropriate Region will be allocated to that exhibition. All communication between the Exhibition and the RESD must  take place within the PSAERS.  For that reason, email addresses for the RESDs are not available on this page.

There are six Divisions in the PSA - 3D (3DD), Nature (ND), Projected Image (PID), Photojournalism (PJD), Pictorial Print (PPD) and Photo Travel (PTD).  Some of these Divisions have Divisional ESDs These Divisional ESDs  have no part in the recognition process.  Their role is to monitor standards, give advice, and encourage exhibitions to offer sections in exhibitions which comply with the rules of their divisions.  Three divisions (ND, PJD and PTD) could be described as "reality divisions"  These divisions have clear sets of rules - definitions - which entrants and exhibitions are obliged to obey. These definitions can be found here. Chairs of Exhibitions should consult these definitions, and the advice to judges that can be found there.  After an exhibition the DESDs will look at catalogs and on-line galleries to check that exhibitions are conforming with the standards laid down.  If there are found to be serious breaches of the rules, then the DESDs may set in motion investigations which may lead to denial of future recognition either of particular sections, or of the exhibition as a whole.  The DESDs may be contacted for advice.
