The magic of recording people, events, scenery and life in general through film photography and the wonder of post processing was a big part of Bernie's life while growing up from his grammar school days in a San Francisco suburb. Acquiring a used cheap 35mm camera with B & W film from paper route earnings, allowed Bernie to capture time standing still, with pictures of dogs & cats, friends, family and everything & anything of interest to him. It was inevitable then, that a makeshift darkroom and enlarger would follow.
Today, Bernie feels the magic even more with the help of a decent digital camera, a computer for software post processing and membership in a couple of great and challenging photo clubs. He claims that he's now much more aware of the beauty of the landscape and the silent people stories constantly being played around us. It's a little like he seeks life and photo opportunities through his viewfinder eyes.
