Definition of Creative: The PSA definition of Creative is “Altered Reality.”  The image may be of any subject matter and must obviously display a change in natural color, form, shape or any combination of these three.  All images must be original and may not incorporate elements produced by anyone else. Artwork or computer graphics generated by the entrant may be incorporated if the original photographic content predominates. Images may not be constructed entirely within a computer.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) images without further changes are not considered “Altered Reality.”

Groups & Entries / Round: A and B: New clubs start in Group B, 6 images by 6 members (one image only for each member) - three rounds

Entry Rules: Images must be in “JPG” format. Maximum image width (horizontal) is 1024 pixels. Maximum image height (vertical) is 768 pixels. The sRGB color profile is recommended.
It is not necessary to re-name your image files.  That will be done for you automatically. May submit up to two “Altered Reality" images per round. An image previously receiving an Award or HM in a PID Individual Creative Competition may not be entered.

Entry Method: 
Upload Images - This website will also display the club scores and award-winning images.

Awards / Round: 
10% receive Awards, 10% receive HMs (ribbons). Make-up entries not eligible for awards. Cannot re-enter any images.

End of Year (EOY) Awards: 3 highest scoring clubs in each group receive EOY certificates. Individual award for Best of the Best chosen from 10 top Award of Merit images from each round combined, per group.

Information: Original image must be made by entrant on photographic emulsion or captured digitally. All images must be original and may not incorporate elements produced by anyone else. Original images must be altered by the maker; artwork or computer graphics generated by the entrant may be incorporated, if the original photographic content predominates. Images may not be constructed entirely within a computer. Image's core content must be identifiable. Non-creative images are not eligible for this competition. Any subject matter is acceptable as long as the Altered Reality guidelines are apparent.

PERMISSION FOR PSA TO USE IMAGES                                    

If you wish to allow the Photographic Society of America (PSA) to display any of your images which have been entered in an Interclub competition, you will need to sign/agree to the following release form, provided here as a downloadable link. Please note that this form is not a requirement with respect to having your images used in the Interclub Competitions; it is only required if you are willing to have such images displayed on the PSA's web site.

“I hereby give permission for the Photographic Society of America (PSA) to display any of my images submitted through my camera club for use in PSA interclub competitions. I certify that I am the copyright holder of the images. I hereby agree that this work is my original work created solely by me and does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, oral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or party.

I hereby give permission for the Photographic Society of America to display such images on the PSA's own website.

I retain copyright of the image(s) and these images may not be used by PSA for any purpose other than stated above without my additional explicit written permission. The PSA will not directly or indirectly post these images on any other web sites such as social media sites without such written consent.”

To register for a PSA Division Interclub Competition, please contact the Interclub Competition Director listed at the top of this page. Clubs can register at any time and participate in as many or as few competitions as the club wishes; however, clubs need to register and participate in all of the offered rounds to be properly ranked in the year's standings.

A Consultant is available to help PSA-member clubs enter the Interclub Competitions. This service can be found in Clubs/Councils area, which is available after Club Representative login.
