I received my first camera, as a gift, when I was ten years old. Since then I always had a point-and-shoot camera of some sort laying around the house, but my interest has never gone beyond taking a few shots a year. After hearing a bunch of "you have an eye for photography"s from friends, and with a lot of encouragement from my wife, I bought my first professional camera in early 2015.

This purchase and a beginner level photography training allowed me to experience the real magic of photography. It is hard for me to put into words how intensely I enjoy spending time both shooting and post-processing now. I am a fan of shooting the Milky Way and landscapes, but also do street photography and an occasional portrait too.

I think I have ways to go in terms of learning how to shoot and edit. I believe in Malcolm Gladwell's ten thousand hours rule, so check back regularly for the next decade to see the improvement in my photography. I'm blessed with a devoted, loving wife, and a wonderful son. I live by a motto I've created: "life is like a soap bubble, live it as if you're gone by dawn."
