Wayne McVay

Hello, my name is Wayne McVay and most people call me Mac. I grew up in Pittsburgh and worked on the railroad for 25 1/2 years in Philadelphia. I retired in September, 2010 and now live in Spring Hill, Florida. I have also lived in Cleveland and San Juan, P.R. I served in the US Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman from 1966-1969, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal 1967-1969.

My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic and my first SLR was an Olympus OM-1. I now use a Nikon D600. I own four lenses: AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G, AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G, AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G and AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/4G. I use the 50mm the most and the 35mm the least. DSLRs I've used in the past are Canon 20D, Nikon D90 and Nikon D7000. I love photography, though I am no artistic ace and I am still learning. I have no photographic speciality that I focus on. I just shoot what I find interesting, and the only person I try to impress is myself. I have an iMac and use Aperture 3 for post. I belong to the photography blog Ugly Hedgehog. I am looking forward to learning, improving, sharing, and getting to know nice people that share my interest in photography.
