Carl Simmerman

I was always told when photographing people, that the camera looks both ways, that the photographers emotions, personality, facial expressions are reflected back to the camera from the subject. I believe that this is also the case in nature and landscape photography, even street photography, our emotions, our view of life and how we see the world are also captured in the image we record.

Photography is more than a collection of pretty images to me. Each captured image represents a moment, preserving the present and showing respect to the past. In photography, metal no longer rusts, and people never age. My hope is to save a few of these special moments, to pass on to others.
