NY Galleries

My dad used to develop film in the bathroom when I was a child, so I was exposed to his interest in photography at a very young age. I learned on his old, manual Voigtlander and Retina, getting my own Pentax in high school. Education, career, etc intervened, and I wasn't chasing artistic pursuits as much as I would like.

A couple of years ago I joined my local club and started learning Photoshop and reconnecting with my artistic eye. It's been a great learning experience as I've struggled through competitions (and the scores and critiques!), exhibits, learning the newer technology (this is NOT my father's bathroom darkroom!), and honing my skills. I'm glad I joined up.

I grew up in Brooklyn, and now live in a suburb of NYC with my husband, our dog, and our three cats. I am a psychologist, with training in neuropsychology and psychopharmacology. Besides photography, I draw a little when I have time, ride horses, hike with my dog, bike, foster rescue dogs, listen to music, and go to concerts and plays. ' I hope you like my images.
