The PSA Board recently created a new board position entitled International Relationships Vice President. They have appointed Barrie Wilkins, HonPSA, FPSA to be the first to assume the position, effective June 2013. The International Relationships VP (IRVP) has supervisory responsibility for the PSA Ambassadors, Liaison Officers and the Translation Committee, subject to review, oversight and limitations imposed by the PSA Board of Directors, Executive Committee and President, and shall chair the International Relationships Committee, comprised of the IRVP, two PSA Ambassadors, two PSA Liaison Officers, and the PSA President ex officio.
Barrie Wilkins, a native of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, has been a member of PSA since 1969. He is currently the President of the Port Elizabeth Camera Club, and is a Past President of the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA). He is still Chairman of their Honours Division, a position that he has held for more than thirty years. Barrie has been active in photography for many years and has been honored internationally for his photographic expertise as well as service to photography.
Barrie is an Optometrist by profession and is partner in the successful photographic business J&B Photographers, with his work being published widely from billboards to editorial around the world.
