Dennis Poeschel, PPSA

Dennis was from Milwaukee, WI. Dennis was a member of the Unlimited Visions Photo Club, Waukesha, WI. His PSA membership spanned two periods. In the 1970's he was an active competitor and member of several clubs. Dennis taught photography for adults in the local Technical College. These classes included basic and advanced camera techniques, darkroom, and the zone system. As his young family grew, his participation in these activities slowed down. During that time he ran a portrait and wedding photography business for 15 years. In the 1970's he played a key role in the organization of the then Wisconsin International Salon of Photography. With the advent of the digital world, and a then grown family, Dennis rekindled his love for the camera and photography.

Dennis quickly rejoined PSA and became active in many areas. With a strong competitive spirit the International Exhibitions were his focus. He was interested in small prints, photojournalism in all formats, and digital submissions. Dennis quickly earned various Star Ratings and earned his PPSA distinction in 2006.

In addition to the International Exhibitions, Dennis donated his photography skills to local charities and area events. He lectured at area camera clubs on various topics of interest, was a Mentor to help PSA members interested in learning the techniques for “Capturing Motion,” and wrote many articles for the PSA Journal. Dennis passed away in January 2009.
