About the Photographic Society of America (PSA)

The Photographic Society of America (PSA), founded in 1934, is a world-wide organization providing abundunt resources for photographers, from the novice to the professional. PSA offers on-line learning, webinars, study groups, competitions, mentors and consultants. Membership is in over 80 countries, 5,000 members, 460 Camera Clubs and 12 Chapters across the United States.

  • To promote the art and science of photography as a means of communication, image appreciation and cultural exchange.
  • Provide education, information, inspiration and opportunity to all persons interested in photography.
  • Foster personal growth and expression, creativity, excellence and ethical conduct in all aspects of photographic endeavor.

PSA was founded in 1934 when the Associated Camera Clubs of America (ACCA), founded in 1919, established an Organizing Committee, who enrolled individual members, and subsequently passed a resolution to change the name to the Photographic Society of America (PSA).
